COSON, HOPSEA AGREE ON ROYALTY PAYMENT


Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) and Hotel and Personal Services Employers Association of Nigeria (HOPSEA)have reached an understanding on the payment of copyright royalties for the music and sound recordings used in hotels and related places across Nigeria.

Director General, Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) Otunba Segun Runsewe made the revelation at a joint meeting between managers of hotels and COSON  in Ikeja, Lagos. Runsewe said the action of COSON will help reduce unemployment and crime in our society. “If we must add value to the nation, all of us must put our heads together. What we are doing now will give Nigerian music a better pedestal all around the world. Nigerian musicians will be happier after this”, he said adding that a formal signing ceremony between COSON and the hotels will take place soon. Details in Features
