Ikeja Local Government has budgeted a total sum of N 890, 389,401. 28 million for the year 2013. While announcing the budget in Lagos, chairman of the Local Government, Mr. Wale Odunlami said the budget is five percent lower than the N938, 116,276.60 approved for the year 2012, adding that the 2013 budget will focus on education, agriculture, healthcare and infrastructure.
Odunlami, who gave the assurance that his administration will honour his commitments during the year, said he has put in place appropriate measures to block loopholes in the proposed budget and ensure that it is properly implemented. He charged those living in Ikeja to be law abiding by paying their rates and dues promptly to support growth and development of the council.
