Veteran Nollywood actor, Justus Esiri, in white, flanked by wife and daughter at Enebeli Elebuwa’s mass

Veteran actor, Justus Esiri is dead. News of his death was first revealed by his son, Dr. SID, in his Tweeter page this morning wherein he posted his father’s photograph and wrote, RIP DAD. We could not ascertain circumstances surrounding his death but the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) is expected to speak on the matter as soon as possible. Justus Esiri shot to fame in the 70s with his role in the play Village Headmaster on the network of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). His death comes about a month after the burial of his colleague, Enebeli Elebuwa, who died in an indian hospital. He was very much visible during the burial and requiem service in Lagos.

Esiri who was then not looking ill at that time came to the mass with his wife Omiete. He is 71 and is survived by six children among which are the musician cum dentist, DR. SID. We gathered that he died Monday morning.
