NOT LESS than 70 suspects have been arrested by members of the Nigeria Police Force(NPF) as part of efforts to hunt down the killers of the hip hop artiste, Olaniyan Damilola, better known as Damino Damoshe who was killed last Thursday at the main campus of the Lagos State University (LASU).
A Senior police officer who spoke under condition of anonymity said, Area E which is the area command controlling the jurisdiction where Damoshe was killed, went on a hunting spree on Sunday afternoon to get the suspected killers. “We are presently on the move now and have started arresting some people in connection with the incident.”
Another police source said about 70 cult members have been arrested so far from the hunting spree embarked upon by the area command in charge of the investigation. The suspected cultists who were arrested with charms and other dangerous weapons have been transferred to Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) in Ikeja for further investigation and interrogation.
We gathered that there was however another reprisal attack in the early hours of Sunday around the institution as the rival cult groups clashed. The attack which was gathered became bloody left people scampering for safety. Meanwhile, policemen from the state command have been placed on standby to forestall further violence even as Public Relations, Mr. Ngozi Braide has however denied knowledge of any arrest in connection with the incident.
