PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN has pledged to drop a fresh sum of N3 billion to in support of the motion pictures industry. The president, who dropped the hint in Lagos said Nollywood Project will be launched in the first week of April, adding that it  will be managed by the Ministry of Finance in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

“I assure you that my Administration will continue to give Nollywood every possible support and assistance to take the Nigerian movie industry to even greater heights of success,” the president noted, adding that he invited the private sector to the dinner because of his belief that they can also support efforts to develop the entire creative industry. A previous revolving loan scheme of $200 million was announced by the President in 2010.
