Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola has approved the appointment of 25 auditors for Lagos State. Newly appointed Auditor-General of the state, Mrs. Helen Deile made the revelation at the Lagos State House of Assembly during her confirmation on Monday
She pledged to work closely with the House Committee on Public Accounts to improve on the audit system of the state, noting categorically that she would ensure transparency and accountability in the day to day running of her office. She stated that the Governor had seen the need for more qualified auditors in the State, hence his approval for the appointment of 25 auditors.
Deile was born in Epe in August, 1961. She graduated from Yaba College of Technology in Accountancy in 1988 before proceeding to the University of Lagos, Akoka where she bagged a Masters Degree in Business Administration.
She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.Deile had worked in the private sector before she joined the Lagos State Board of Internal Revenue. She had also worked as Chief Finance Officer in various Local Governments before she became a Director at the Office of the State Auditor – General in April, 2006 until her present appointment.
