N1.025 BILLION PAID TO PROPERTY OWNERS IN LAGOS

The Lagos State Government said it has released over N1.025 billion as compensation to owners of properties that were affected by development activities in the State.A statement signed by Permanent Secretary Lands Bureau, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola said the compensation was paid to those whose properties were acquired due to overriding public interest in conformity with the provisions of the Land Use Act.

He said beneficiaries of the compensation include owners of buildings affected by the on-going expansion of the Orile-Badagry Expressway, the owners of the land in Isiwu Community in Ikorodu, as well as owners of the land and buildings affected by the on-going expansion of Ago Palace Way, in Okota, Isolo Road.

Okunola explained  that compensations are still being processed to be paid to those affected by the Ikorodu road expansion, Lekki/Epe Airport project, re-settlement project for Free Trade Zone, among others.
