Senate President, Senator David Mark has refuted reports in the media that he purchased a Ferari, which he presented as wedding gift to Innocent Idibia and his wife, Annie in far away Dubai, United Arab Emirate.
Special Adviser to the Senate President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Kola Ologbodiyan said in a statement that his boss did not make a car gift donation to the R&B crooner, Tuface and his wife, Annie.
He explained that the Senate President was neither at the venue of the wedding in Dubai, United Arab Emirate nor did he delegate anyone to make such a donation on his behalf. He said that unlike what has been alleged, Mark was in Quito, Ecuador for the 128th Inter Parliamentary Union conference while the wedding was on.
“The President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, did not give a N47m Ferrari car to Tuface Idibia contrary to wild stories being circulated on social sites. Senator Mark did not visit Dubai for Tuface’s wedding rather he attended the 128th Inter parliamentary Union conference currently holding in Quito, Ecuador.
“He was also not represented at Mr. Idibia’s wedding. It is also instructive to state that the President of the Senate, Senator Mark, did not make a car donation of any kind to Tuface before departing Nigeria for Ecuador neither did he purchase nor send any car to Dubai as a wedding gift for the musician or his wife.
“Who made the donation on behalf of the President of the Senate? It is therefore a puerile lie for anybody to state that Senator Mark bought a Ferrari car worth N47m for Tuface. The allegation is wicked, ridiculous and irresponsible, ” Ologbodiyan said.
