Late Christy Essien Igbokwe is the first female President of PMAN

Just few months after the Actors Guild of Nigeria elected her first female President, Mrs. Ibinabo Fiberesima, another lady, Alhaja Aminat Oluwaremilekun Dangaji has been elected President Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN). She was the sole candidate that stood in for the election at the 14th Annual delegate Conference at Army Guest House, Sabo Yaba.  Dangaji who has served as 1st Vice Chairman of the Lagos state Chapter is the second lady to head the association. The first female president was the late Christy Essien-Igbokwe. She was immediately sworn in by legal adviser to the association Mr. Fure Joshua Kara in the presence of delegates from at least 25 states across the nation.

Speaking shortly after the swearing in, Dangaji said the new leadership of PMAN will foster unity among members by  organizing paid shows for members and ensure that royalties are paid promptly. She said her government will co-operate with the federal government on economic empowerment and work towards building a permanent secretariat for PMAN .

Danagji is one of the brain behind the rehabilitation of the rainmaker,  Majek Fashek and said she is set to rebrand and upgrade PMAN. She is a musician and promoter of the business.
