NPC DIRECTOR KIDNAPPED AT GUNPOINT IN LAGOS

Acting Director of the Nigerian Press Council (NPC) Mr. Patrick Izobo-Agbebaku has been kidnapped at gunpoint in Lagos. The statement signed by Media Relations Officer of the NPC, Mr. Stephen Odumodu said Agbebaku was abducted on his way home after office hours adding that the matter has been reported to the Festac Police Station. He explained  that the Toyota Corolla he was driving at that time has however been recovered but without the director.

The NPC appealed to members of the general public to inform it of any information that would lead to the where about of Izobo-Agbebaku.Below is the text of the statement:

“The management of the Nigerian Press Council wishes to provide the general public with information about the abduction of the Ag. Director/Liaison Officer of the Nigerian Press Council (NPC), Lagos office, Mr. Patrick Izobo-Agbebaku.

“Mr. Agbebaku was abducted by four unidentified gunmen in the evening of Tuesday March 26, 2013 at Apple Junction, Amuwo- Odofin on his way home after the office work. The matter has been reported at the Festac Police Station, Lagos.

“The car in which Mr. Agbebaku was abducted, a Toyota Corolla has been recovered at Ijesha, area Lagos, but without Mr. Agbebaku”, the NPC
