Chief Press Secretary to former Governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and current Chairman, Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Kehinde Bamigbetan has been kidnapped. He was whisked away by his abductors late Monday night at exactly 11PM in Ejigbo.

We gathered that he was kidnapped at the point of navigating into his street, Ona Iwa Mimo Street, Ori Oke just before the Egbe Bridge, in Ejigbo aboard his black Ford Everest jeep with registration number, KOK in company of his driver, Biodun Olayiwola.The kidnappers were said to have shot sporadically into the air to scare passersby before bolting away with the helpless chairman in another vehicle.

His Ford jeep was said to have stuck in a the muddy terrain, thus making it impossible for the robbers to take him away in the jeep. The motive of the kidnap was yet to be known yesterday even as the abductors have demanded the sum of $1million (N158 million) as ransom.

A top council source told journalists that the abductors phoned Mrs. Bamigbetan and demanded that the money be paid before they would release the chairman.

According to the official, the abductors had made a call to the wife at about 4AM Bamigbetan’s his phone and demanded the sum of $1million ransom before he would be released alive.

We gathered that they warned the wife not to involve the police or play any prank. She was said to have been warned to desist from blowing the issue out of proportion, warning that any attempt to flout the directive would be met with serious consequence.
