Less than one week after the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) suspended the Sokoto State  Governor Mr. Aliyu Wamakko for insubordination, the party has recalled him to the party.
Wamakko was suspended on June 5 after a meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC). A statement signed by Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh had announced that the governor was disciplined because he had refused to pick Tukur’s calls without any explanation.

Chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur who made the announcement said the decision was taken based on the appeal and intervention of the PDP Governors’ Forum led by the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Godswill Akpabio.

Tukur said the party would however not resist the appeal of the PDP Governors on their colleague adding that the party would not condone indiscipline in any form. He called on PDP governors elected on the platform of the party to show more commitment to the party. In his remarks Akpabio said  the party has reviewed events in the party and made a passionate appeal to the NWC  to rescind the decision to suspend the Governor of Sokoto State. He thanked the NWC for obliging their request.
